Where Oketani breastfeeding care began in Korea — Oketani Apgujeong Main Branch, run by Dr. Jeong-sook Jo, PhD in Nursing. Director Jeong-sook Jo of Apgujeong has, since 2004, trained specialists in Oketani breast care through the Oketani Breast Care Method Academy, producing Oketani-certified breastfeeding nursing experts for the sake of mothers and babies everywhere. Since 2004, Director Jeong-sook Jo — who first introduced the Oketani hand technique to Korea and has since cared for countless mothers — has practiced Oketani breast care with hands that take into account the breast's anatomy and physiology, working according to the principles of how milk is produced, and painlessly resolve a wide range of breast issues that occur during breastfeeding — engorgement, insufficient or excess milk supply, nipple and breast pain, and more — improving the quality and quantity of breast milk, and guiding a healthy weaning process with breast health in mind.
